During Yushchenko’s presidency and the again after the Maidan, and meanwhile the US wanted to get Ukraine into NATO. Even without NATO membership, the US began building a military base near Odessa, without limit to the kind of weapons that could stationed there. After completion, the base could be used for launching rockets with 6-7 minutes flight time before reaching destination. Russia could then be blackmailed in almost any question. Russia wrecked it in the first days of the operation in 2022.
“In the future, the base should be a command centre for the Ukrainian Navy” -explains Oleg Zhdanov for Apostrophe. “In the time of peace it will serve as a training centre for the naval forces of NATO countries and Ukraine. This is a training and material base for command of the navy”

They are calling for sanctions. The Czech Republic already enacted maximum sanctions that are economically possible. Meanwhile, Russia has been importing everything from China, selling oil to India, and doing development projects in African nations. Much of this is done in currencies other than the dollar. And while Russia might suffer problems in many sectors due to sanctions, sanctions are a temporary measure. They need to be impactful the moment they are enacted. And in most cases they are ineffective. Cuba and North Korea have suffered far worse shit than Russia, and they are still around.
So there has been a bit of a talk about Poland reclaiming its lost territories in Western Ukraine. I find this hardly believable. First off, what would Banderashits in Canada or the US say about it? And I do not believe Russia would allow these NATO hyenas to claim anything from Ukraine.
Although, seeing Polaks rampaging through Western Ukraine and removing Banderashits would be funny as well, and the squeal from Nazis would be even better…
