Czechia Should Leave NATO ASAP

Czech normies normally flip out at this suggestion. This is a very unpopular opinion here in Czechia but I will voice it anyway…

NATO is going to cost us. Donald Trump wants an alliance. He does not want America to be our daddy. He wants defense partners that would spend on defense like Murica does. Presumably buying American weapons systems, and making America rich. Trump wants 5% of GDP to be spent on defense. The Czech minister for European affairs…

We have a minister for European Affairs

…says we can increase defense spending by increasing taxes. And my friends, I don’t want parasites like this minister to be advocating for bigger taxes. I want lower taxes, and a thinner state. No useless ministers, and no large military budgets.

If you look at neighboring countries like Austria, or Switzerland (Switzerland is like 5 hour drive from here), both of which are not in NATO, have very low defense budgets. Austria 0.84%, and Switzerland 0.70%. Somehow they don’t need NATO for defense, even the recent invasion of Ukraine didn’t make them join, unlike Scandinavia. For some reason they are not afraid of Putin.

More NATO spending will mean less money for healthcare and education. There is no free college or healthcare in the US. While I am on of those that thinks this sector ought to be more privatized but there needs to some government involvement as this is imperative for maintaining high level of human capital needed for development.

Supporters of NATO are telling us that if we get out of there, we will need to spend more on defense. Like 26% of GDP as did Czechoslovakia in the interwar period. But Czechoslovakia was literally surrounded on all sides by hostile states with territorial pretensions. Czechia doesn’t have this problem. So we either have a choice, be a worthy ally to Murica or decide our own defense policy.

Premature Den’ Zluky

Like I wrote in my previous post, January is full of commemorative events for Ukraine. Tomorrow should be the day of unity of Ukraine. (Den’ Zluky in Ukrainian) This marks an event in 1919 (22 January), when the Ukrainian People’s Republic in the formerly Russian territories joined with West Ukrainian People’s Republic formed in the former Austrian territories. The Wikipedia page says this union was symbolic because both of these states existed largely on paper. Much like with the cyborgs, this is another celebration of a complete fuck up that better be forgotten.

Now I remember that the Battle of Kruty happened on 16 January 1918. Kruty was something like the Donetsk airport. The government of Hrushevsky was under pressure from the Bolsheviks from the East, so they mustered a force composed of mostly Cadets from a military school in Kiev. Hrushevsky and the rest of the lot fled westwards to the Germans, and the Ukrainian force was annihilated by the Bolsheviks. Every Western game today has fags, you can’t get away from it.

I don’t feel that strongly about it, and would still play some titles regardless. Although, I think many would prefer to have a No Homo switch in the settings.

Matthew Livelsberger

The Tesla truck bomber…

There has been a lot of shit published about this twerp. I could not make my mind up about it. I was inundated with contradictory information. Various manifesto’s popped up, and various theories about his life too. But already early into the event, I saw information that Livelsberger was training Ukrainian soldiers. I kinda forgot about this, until I realized my friend sent me this RT report.

At the time the photo was posted, Livelsberger was serving as an intelligence and operations specialist with the US Army’s elite Green Berets, according to his LinkedIn profile. An Army spokesman told CBS News that Livelsberger served for 19 years, and was stationed near Stuttgart in Germany before he took leave and returned to the US last month.

It seems Routh and Livelsberger had both Ukraine connection. And they both seem to have had Trump Derangement Syndrome.
