Ukrainian officials are acting like they are doing Europe a favor. Like Europe would be better off without Russia. Russia will reorient its trade towards East Asia and Europe will enter a brave new world of Qatar having an issue with Corporate Due Diligence legislature of the EU. Of Norway and the US not having any long term commitments to European customers unlike Gazprom had. Our relationship with Gazprom was the best. Cheap pipe gas, long term contracts but people lobbied hard against this. It is still portrayed as evil.
But Russian gas will continue to flow to Europe. Unless somebody cripples the Turk Stream as well. Turk gas will be more expensive, there will be no long term contracts with Gazprom that would guarantee supplies.
Only difference is the Europeans and the Ukrainians will have go pay more. People claiming otherwise are deceiving you. Europe is entering a period of profound uncertainty in the energy sector.
Nobody cares about Ukrainians or any other ordinary Europeans. Ordinary Europeans will be getting poorer, and the rich of Europe will be getting richer. You don’t want to be the one buying the gas but the one selling it.

My question is why should the Russians tolerate anti-Russian governments on their borders? Would the United States tolerate anti-American neighbors? Ask Cuba! It is my contention that Ukraine never had a pro-Russian government. No Ukrainian government was ever able to make the Russian language second official despite the Russian language being spoken by over 70% of the population.
In fact if you look, the Russians had a problem with explicitly anti-Russian governments that followed Western sponsored color revolutions in 2004 and 2013. These shifts ment attacks on Russian language, attacks on the Orthodox Church, suppression of political forces accused of pro-Russianness, Russophobia in the media, extrajudicial killings of individuals not content with this state of affairs, glorification of Nazi collaboration, Neonazism, the burning of people in Odessa, and all out war in the Donbas.
Supporters of Ukraine would like you to believe that this is all Russia’s fault, and was all done by the arch-devil, Igor Girkin. They are completely oblivious to the fact that only a minority of people in Donetsk liked Ukraine and Ukrainian Nazis. Usually the wealthier did, the rest of the population did not. Ukrainian discourse is based on profound mystification. Ukraine was independent since 1991. Russia accepted this independence but this independence was not enough for some people. The plane hasn’t responded to Soviet signals and was destroyed by a fighter jet. In 2014, allegedly the Donbas separatists have downed a Malaysian airliner using SA missile. Although, there are many indications that the whole thing was arranged, even to the point of downing the plane by the Ukrainians to frame the separatists and force the EU to enact sanctions against Russia, and thus put pressure on the separatists. I actually believe that Western intelligence services were involved in this.

What all these instances have in common is they were used by anti-Russian forces for moral grand standing, and preachy addresses towards the Evil Empire. One should mention however that these events, where a fighting force downs a civilian airliner are by far not exclusive to the Russians.

Latest was this poor sod that the Ukrainian propaganda tried to pass off as North Korean. He is holding a military passport, which is for some reason blurred.
We can still read that this is Chingis Mangush and he is from Tyva. What the Ukrainian secret service is claiming is that Russia is hiding the true identity of these soldiers and giving them off as Tyvans, which are Mongolic people living in Russia.
