Russia hit the museum of that Roman Shush..something guy, not bad. And honestly, the idea that this Zaluzhny is some good general is getting old. Sure Zel had some don’t retreat orders, but what did this guy do well?
Honestly, I am skeptical about using missiles against Nazi cultural shrines. I would have defeated the Ukrainians first and removed it, or better yet made the Ukrainians remove all the shit. Western Ukraine is littered with monuments to Nazi collaborators. See Eduard Dolinsky’s X account.
The hype around Zaluzhny was likely created by westerners, who are afraid about Zelensky’s approval ratings and seek a trusted successor, so they push this guy Zaluzhny as an alternative. I am not going to comment on military matters but at some points of the front the Ukrainians were able to halt the Russian and inflict damage. The question is whether to treat it as a peremoha.
I mean they were able to do it with numbers, and a huge amount of Javelins and whatnot, there was a decent amount of incompetence in Russian army as well, Kharkiv offensive done by the Ukrainians was big success, mostly due to capturing Russian arti shells, and why didn’t Russians blow it up when retreating, well because they put it too close to townships, and villages.
But now, a small look at the failed counteroffensive, everyone knew it would fail, but even Russians built the defense in mind that their 2nd line would be the one finishing it off. I mean just by looking on satellite images it’s obvious. Meanwhile, this guy didn’t even dent line one. Heck some of the small fortifications in front of main first line weren’t taken.
And in Soledar and Bakhmut, yes sure, Zel get the army stay for too long, but the way lines got broken especially in Bakhmut it goes on UA. So at best guy is slightly above average in general, good at been corrupted tho.
BTW Chinese are developing some lightly armored vehicles with anti-FVP jammers plus some guns on it to deal with potential bigger ones and some infantry as well, tactically it’s supposed to support infantry that’s pushing forward.
