As a longtime climate activist, I’d seen this gendering of the climate fight up close and personal. Fossil fuels have been deposited in the ground by ancient lifeforms in the Carboniferous period for us humans to find them and make use of them. I don’t think there is anything unnatural about them. Carbon in the atmosphere will be eventually absorbed by plants and other organisms on land and in the seas. I am personally much more concerned about habitat destruction, loss of nature, than burning coal. Today coal can be burned in a much cleaner manner than in the past. I don’t know why we shouldn’t keep making use of it if it still found in the ground?
