You know, every bullshit that the EU promotes is presented as a ticket to World dominance and golden future. The Green Deal, regulations, Ukrainian membership. The argument in the article is based on the propaganda that Ukraine has developed a modern military that integrates drones, AI, and the production of drones. And this could be of help to the emerging security infrastructure of Europe. Because Murica is decreasing its influence in Europe, Ukraine with its experience would be a vital component of the future security of Europe.
This idealism rests on potential Ukrainian win in the war and the restoration of Ukraine to its 1991 borders. It operates with the myth that Ukrainian membership in the EU would lead to success of the Ukrainian state. And the reason for Russian invasion is to prevent Ukraine from becoming successful and European.
The latter is bullshit, Russia cannot tolerate a hostile regime on its borders. Ukraine is far from winning the war, and this prevents any membership in the EU. EU would have to break with its rules to admit Ukraine. The Ukrainian military is being fed by fear from NATO states, their drones run on Palantir AI and are navigated by Western satellites. Even their production is just Ukrainians assembling parts delivered from abroad. Palantir is American, does the EU even have anything equivalent? The EU uses Ukraine as a testing ground and when the Ukrainian proxy is spent, their drones run know how will remain in the EU. Ukraine is losing this war and will likely be subjugated by Russia, and the EU will have to cope with this reality.

The argument that Ukraine is a sovereign country invaded by Russia is valid but Russia did not invade Ukraine without a reason. Ukraine is an anti-Russian regime and did not follow the Minsk Accords. Russia has invaded to protect its territory and to neutralize the Ukrainian regime, prevent it from joining NATO. Much like Murica that is bombing Iran. A sovereign county with an anti-American and anti-Israeli regime. Russia has the moral right to protect its security and its sphere of influence. And demanding that Russia stops its hostilities is a wishful thinking of people that unequivocally support the Ukrainian regime.
Ukraine’s ambassador to the Great Britain and former chief commander of the Ukrainian armed forces, Valery Zaluzhny said on Monday that Ukraine will, according to him never become a member of NATO.
He said so on a meeting of Ukrainian envoys in Kiev. Ukraine according to him should focus on developing other security alliances.
If I wrote this I would be called a Vatnik and a Russian shill. But I will add that Ukraine’s EU membership is also very uncertain. Definitely not while the war is raging. But I am unsure what security alliances could be created by Ukraine. Individual security agreements with Western countries, Moldova, Georgia perhaps?

The Czech media are reporting Zaluzhny’s statements widely. If NATO is undated then it is the central component of the alliance, the commitment of Murica. And perhaps some Europeans would be very open to cooperation with Ukraine if the current pro-Western regime survives.

Something that needs to be understood about modern leftism is that the ideological basis for it was not formulated in majority by the working class. Marx never worked in the factories that he criticized. While he did have good observation of how the worker lived in his time, he did not anticipate that the capitalism will evolve. That pensions will be instituted in his native Germany, that an eight hour work day will be brought in, that holidays for the workers and facilities for recreation will be developed in the decades following the publishing of Das Kapital and the Communist Manifesto.
Communist revolutions were mostly successful in semi-developed places like Russia and China. In Czechoslovakia the Commies seized power only after the stressful and disastrous WWII. In many other East European countries the Communist regimes were imposed from above with the help of the Soviets. And many of the revolutions were military coups rather than working class uprisings. Another good examples are Castro and Che Guevara, who both came from rather privileged backgrounds and while they were successful in Cuba, Bolivian farmers had no time for Che Guevara’s antics. Pol Pot is another such example, who studied in Paris and then implemented an extreme version of what he heard there in his native Cambodia.
The working class is seen as a traitorous group especially by the intellectual left that emerges after the Great War, and is a reaction to the failure of Bolshevik revolutions in Western Europe, and the displeasure with the repressive policies of the Soviet regime. What some call Cultural Marxism shifts the focus from the working class to the presumably marginalized groups of the society like coloured people, immigrants, homosexuals, women. Strangely enough, this ideology has found supporters among the rich. Immigrants and working women cheapen the workforce. Promotion of feminism and homosexuality puts an accent on individualism. Individualism fuels consumerism.
The above meme is ridiculous but in our timeline the traditional testosterone left that did Communist revolutions in the twentieth century is very much gone. Bolshevism has pretty much failed, and the ideology is no longer attractive. But the contemporary left no longer relies on the working class or masculinity. In fact, it is rather opposed to these groups, seeing them as an obstacle to creating their utopia. Today, many people are attracted to socialist ideas because they are saddled with student loans, can’t find a job, and buying your home is off limits. This will be only exacerbated in the following years with rising prices of food and fuel, which will benefit the haves and will fall heavily on the have nots.
