I think there’s one more purpose; it may be Zelensky’s last attempt at bringing Putin to negotiation table. However, this leaves only the troops in Donbas and Kharkov, said to be some of the most capable units within Ukrainian military; and the mother fuckers in Kursk. The rest of Ukraine may be poorly defended and once the front line breaks, then hell breaks loose in Ukraine.
Still though, at this point, I think it’s wise to launch an offensive against Kiev through Belarus. I’ve heard that about 5 days ago, Lukashenko was having some problems with Ukrainian drones entering into Belarus airspace. If Putin wants, he may try to get Lukashenko to collaborate with him and send in Belarusian troops. Might as well, because from the looks of things, Ukrainians are proven to be bunch of stubborn little fuckers. Russia may really have to bring their punk asses to their knees.

I don’t think Belarusian troops will be used in this war. Belarus is small in population and its army exists to defend Belarus.

It’s sad. Well, under such circumstances, then at least using Belarus as a base to launch an offensive against Kiev. The point is, right now it may not be the wisest idea to limit the war at just Donbas and Kharkov. The resistance will be a lot weaker due to Zelensky has been exhausting his troops, but I wouldn’t underestimate those Patriot missiles stationed there though. But it’ll have to wait till they retake those lost territories in Kursk first.
