Create an emergency preparedness plan.

There are all kinds of emergencies, like when the civilization is standing most of your worries are financial. This is why you need several sources of income and highly diversified. But when shit hits the fan, the best plan is to run somewhere it hasn’t and make your life there. But in case you cannot, you need to be armed, and have food that you can store without fridge. You can only hope whatever situation you are in will pass because then it is back to the dark ages. Can you farm? Can you hunt?

  1. Unless your family is really that rich and most of all, you actually get along with your family, it’s extremely stupid to stick to just a career. At the same time, it’s extremely wise to be multi-talented. At this moment, I’d say an art skill of some sort (given if you have something to prove about your creativity or in my case, perversity) and at least one hardware skill, such as computer assembling and repairing, would be ideal. Then again, as things keep getting worse and most of major cities turn into either the centers of riots, battlefield or just simply dangerous slums, then it’ll be wise to relocate and when that happens, things such as hunting, gardening and fishing may come in really handy.

    1. Yeah, today it is probably better to develop multiple skills that will make you useful. I know a girl that is a college dropout out but draws manga and does embroidery. That college probably didn’t provide much marketable skills.

I personally believe in what I call windfalls. Sometimes you win some money, sometimes you earn some money in a job. You can sense you have more money than usual, or you are earning more than before. When that happens to you, it is not forever. And this windfall needs to be invested, in real estate, in stocks, in BTC. Basically, you invest your money so that when you lose your job, you have assets that will keep you fed. I did it this way, and amassed a decent wealth. Only later did I benefit a little from family health but I got betrayed by my dad, so that is what I was able to salvage with my mother. Rich people are rich because they value family, and try to keep and accumulate wealth over generations. Lower classes are more loose. Even though, these days the upper classes are also pretty fucked up.

I do not think riots in cities are permanent, sooner or later the iron grip of the state will chase the rabble out of cities and will establish control.

      1. If you ask me, I’d say the wealthy people are like that because a. they inherited the family wealth (majority), but that’ll only work if they and their families get along. B would be due to they actually came up with really new ideas. However, thanks to the way how today’s schools work, it’s less likely to happen. For me, I have my perversity. Hey, moral aside, that can actually gets you paid. I wish I could’ve realized that sooner and hone in on writing bitches getting fingered and tickled and all that instead of politics. Then from there, I get to do a bit actual development.

There’s a Chinese saying, 富不过三代 (fu buguo sandai), it means you can’t remain rich after three generations. It works for most middle-class and upper-middle class people. Their problem is that they don’t know how to develop their underlings properly at all. That upper-class style of centralized planning for their kids’ future without actually taking the kids’ desire into consideration, and combined with lower-class type of discipline, except they’re actually altruistic about it, as well as today’s schools. None of these will lead to a bright future for the kids. True upper-class are looking at these muppets and laugh.

As for riots, I think if this keeps going, the elites will do what they did back in the 70s and 80s; finding a way so these fools will have it even worse and most of all, the elites get paid.
