  1. They’re willing to assume everything about the death of Navalny, the MH370, COVID and the list goes on, but at the same time, they back the fuck down in the scenario that may paint US as the bad guy.

    1. But what I do not get is the Europeans now pay three times as much for gas, and Russia would deliver cheap gas. This was somehow bad but the price increases and closing factories isn’t.

      1. They’re not thinking rationally. I’d say their logic is this: assuming they think Russia to be weak economically and how “without China and India, Russian economy is basically trash”, they decide to put tons of sanctions against Russian oil and Chinese and Indian companies that are trading with Russia. They think by doing that, they’ll cause more damages to Russian economy than the damages they’re suffering and all they have to do is to wait a bit longer for Putin to be unable to find the Russian war machine. The problem here is

        1. Russia is basically self-sustaining in many essential stuffs such as food and energy. And China as well as India just provide the sweet sweet cash, and even if US and EU decides to sanction those companies, still there are vast amounts of buyers outside of those parts. At the end, US and EU just keep isolating themselves.

        2. US and EU are already suffering from low level productivity. If they wanna go about it, they need to make sure their own citizens feel like working and there are new businesses other than food, hospitality related stuffs and computer software to be churned out. But so far, there’s none. They may have the environmentalism going, but it’s more of a cash cow and power struggle against the existing big oil and big pharma rather than to generate something that can change the outcome.

Basically, we can say this is the result of US and EU elites overestimating their own strength and assuming things are still how they were back in 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s. They got little to nothing to offer to the table for most of the world’s non-middle-class population, and non-Western middle-class’ fanaticism towards the fancy Western products such as iPhone and other fashion and trend related stuffs and even the philosophical related stuffs such as democracy, have deluded these elites even further. If they can wait a little bit and make a final come back once they got the industry and entrepreneurship together, it may be another different story. But they didn’t. They’ve greatly miscalculated Russia’s strength when Putin is already be like “fuck around and find out what we can do”, and that’s the problem.

The “free world” lacks introspection and let their own arrogance and delusion misguided them, and this is what we get.
