That’s about the only time when US seriously considers about investing in infrastructure building. It worked well for Asia though, as East Asians are easy to guilt trip, especially if you’re a foreigner. For Ukraine, it’s even more complicated, as there’s a presence of 4d chess going on, but unfortunately, I can almost guarantee that majority of Ukrainian nationalists type will feel they’re forever in debt of US. Well, they’re about to get into a world of nightmare, I can say that much.
The Western financial centers tend to set up examples of prosperity for others to follow. This is the case of places like Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. In Europe this is the case of Poland and to lesser extent Romania and the Baltic States. They do this by diverging massive amounts of cash to those places. Unfortunately for those that might think to follow suit, there isn’t enough money to sponsor everyone’s prosperity.
Not to mention when you look outside of the financial and “development” aspects, such approaches by US has caused a world of societal problems in the receiving countries. I don’t know the exact situation in Poland and Baltic States…etc, but in East Asia, that shit is way out of control. I have mentioned it on numbers of occasions on Confucianism, abuses of all forms, bullying, hyper-competition…etc.
It’s either the extremely one-sided, simplified version of tradcons, or the shitlibs. Sometimes it’s a cross in-between where they appear to be shitlibs and support things such as radical feminism and LGBTQ and that open-border and greenist bullshit but are conservative AF when it comes to attitude towards school and parenting, especially the disciplinary aspect of it. Throw a bit of Confucianism on top of that, you get today’s East Asia. For Poland, Romania and Baltic States…yeah I had quite some interactions with folks from there on Reddit’s r/AskARussian. They’re pieces of works who never listen to any opinions outside of their own Russophobic bullshit and they’re so pig-headed to the level of childishness, I can see that. But I’m still not entire sure whether their societies are as fucked as the societies in the Far East. I never get to ask.
All in all, if that’s what Ukraine really wants, let’s just say Ukraine will be even less livable. Speaking of which, I’m trying to picturing a scenario where the average Ukrainians live the exact type of life of the average stupid, infantile, mega-obedient, rather sex-craved East Asian middle-class who were literally raised in a BDSM session yet still try to act all cute and kawaii and all that horse shit…it’s quite comical and quite…erotic, in a weird sense…early morning stuffs I must say. You can try to imagine that too. It’s going to be a pure mind-fuck.
Well, with Poland for instance, European structural funds were used to build a network of highways. Poland has experienced quite an economic boom while being the biggest recipient of EU money.
