The journalists in Western tabloids always know very well how Putin feels. The issue here is Alexander Browder and his work on A7A5, a Ruble backed stable coin. That is a cryptocurrency, whose issuer owns Russian Rubles and perhaps Ruble denominated assets like bonds, stocks, or even precious metals and other crypto currencies. Alexander Browder, the son of Bill Browder says the currency, based in Kyrgyzstan is used to launder money for the Russian Federation. And like who gives a fuck that Russia brought about sanctions against this twerp after a clearly hostile move?
I personally am not a big fan of cryptocurrency backed by a government fiat but I understand why it is popular with people in a world that still counts value of things in government issued fiat. I used to hold USDC and converted my entire stack into Bitcoin. Alex Browder hopes his work will lead to people being wary of A7A5 but I think the latter has a specific value for specific people and those don’t give a fuck about Alex Browder.
