So, there was a bread riot chimpout in Iran. Such chimpouts happen in the country every 2 years or so. The place is extremely unequal, the economy sucks, 20% youth unemployment. The mullahs should get a grip to stabilize the nation and give people some dignity or these chimpouts will repeat themselves.
Islam might actually be in trouble due to modern communication technologies. Not just in Iran.
Plenty of Iranian exiles support the Crown Prince but his dad lost power because he was an asshole. He lost power in another chimpout. The country is inherently unstable.

Shah was far worse than Islamic government, but mullahs sin will always be killing bunch of former royal officers who were standard type patriots willing to change uniform and serve the new government.
Now it’s basically rural republic, basically they foremost support are peasants, and with low birthrates they % is lower year by year.
At this point it’s western pressure keeping the regime in charge 😂.
Like if you took of the sanctions, they would literally fall in few years.
