The green transition is only exacerbating the problem. The economic engine of Europe, Germany is deindustrializing.

In my opinion, the Euro has been a disaster. While it did remove problems with the exchange rate, it removed the strength of the Mediterranean nations, which has been their undervalued currency. It made their producers competitive in Northern Europe. This is a perfect clusterfuck, and it is going to get worse, the powers that be don’t have the political will to do anything about it…

Do you know for Emmanuel Todd, he got fame because he in 70s he was predicting that USSR will fall apart, people laughed at him, especially since he was young back then. But he has really good track of predicting the “most likely outcome”.
His latest prediction for “most likely outcome” is Russia taking half of the Ukraine and that after it NATO will fall apart. And Europe will have a chance to do something good for itself. He also gives other “less likely scenarios” and well there he says that war is there for Russia to lose, but if they loose, Europe is forked.
Anyway for Merkel, she was picked at Bilderberg meeting basically, which is basically where Americans give diktat to eurofools. And ofc NATO with its American military bases in key places is an instrument of coercion.
More about Merkel, when Greece started to think about returning to its old currency she went nuclear to them, and ofc US online bot machine supported it online, I’m pretty sure you’re aware of lazy Greek memes. But in reality it was done to protect the euro, if the Greeks took drachma back they would do better, and then Italians could start thinking about lira. Oh no
Anyways even if NATO falls apart I’m not sure EU will survive, exactly due to Euro, right now, the PIGS countries, another meme pushed by Anglo-Germanic coalition, well now Mediterranean countries are doing somewhat okay, exactly because there’s inflation.
At some point there will conflict about euro, obviously north will want to stabilize it, and get some value up, which fucks up the south. And if at that time again politicians at south fold, then well, pigs name will be well deserved.

Yes I know him, in university I was a fan of the French historiography school. But I never got around to reading his work.
The EU is lagging behind technologically, even if it gets its act together tomorrow, it might take decades to catch up with the EU or even China.
