EVs Seem Like An Evolutionary Dead End

And if they did not have the support of corrupt governments subsidizing them, and enacting favorable laws, they wouldn’t be very successful…

The things don’t seem to have the oomph to deal with severe conditions.

Maybe the Russians will come up with an EV that works in winter?

Or maybe not. The EU bureaucrats have been saying that this Green revolution, and their policy will make Europe an economic powerhouse. Meanwhile, most EVs around here seem to come from China, and the EU is quickly deindustrializing due to high energy prices. But then again, this comes from the same people that said Russia guts washing machines for semi-conductors.

  1. EVs are a scam. There’re two goals, one is exactly that, deindustrialization (hit Europe while the USA is still the world’s largest consumer of oil by far and that won’t change much in the future), and the second goal is to make as much $$$ for investors/company owners/shareholders as possible. That’s not just in terms of company profits, also there are lots and lots of “green” subsidies, billions of $ and euros going into ESG-compliant hands or just into shady startups that won’t ever produce anything worth buying.

    1. I personally do not want solar panels on my house. I would purchase large panels and put them at a piece of land adjacent to my home because these things can be a fire hazard. There might be a bit of a loss in a cable leading to the house. I would even have a battery detached from home. But honestly, I would not buy them tomorrow, even though there are subsidies. I think there would be new technologies developed in near future that would make these things much more effective. But we do not get enough sun here and I think what we need are nuclear plants instead.
