This is not even funny anymoreā¦
The Soros funded government of Armenia declared its intention to join the EU. 𤣠I wonder if there is anyone in Armenia, who points out the silliness of this idea.

Does Russia not have any agency in that country? Why is Russia this inept when it comes to foreign policy?

Obviously, Armenia does not interest them enough. The country is remote, tucked between Turkey, Georgia, Iran, and Azerbaijan. It is a rather poor country, although its GDP per capita has grown in recent years. Most of Armeniaās energy needs come from Russia. Russia is not even able to get a government that is compliant to its interests in the country, that is quite frankly pathetic. With all the Armenians living in Russia and speaking Russian.
Maybe the Russians are just cool with it knowing Armenia will not join the EU any time soon due to its remoteness and poverty. Armenia will join the EU right after Turkey or Georgia, god knows if the EU will exist until then. The promise of the EU is used as a carrot for the electorate, which erroneously believes that the EU is a force for good. Just look at the protests in Georgia, or Euromaidan in Ukraine. Did Ukraine join the EU? All Ukraine got was a war with Russia.

I think I’m seeing a correlation between former Soviet’s attitude towards EU, and East Asians’ attitude towards US. Their understanding of their admired idols still remains to that of pre-80s level, if not WW2 level. That’s what happens when a. One blames all his life problems onto politics and b. Didn’t even do fact checks before they declare their allegiance.

Former Soviet countries also have s servile attitude towards the US. EU nations also do whatever Murica tells them.
